Thai Maaman Thanga Mothiram Thittam
What: One-gram gold ring for babies born in government hospitals.

Eligibility tips: Institutional birth certificate from a government hospital is likely to be the core document. Private-hospital births may fall outside scope unless the G.O. specifies otherwise. Register the birth promptly — delays are the most common reason families miss window-based schemes.
Thai Care centres
What: Stay and medical support for pregnant women as delivery approaches — meals, monitoring, care.

Anganwadi expansion

TN-SUDAR hostels
What: 200 integrated student hostels aiming for one lakh modern beds.

First openings will likely cluster near district headquarters and major college hubs (Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, Salem). Continuity schemes citizens still use
Not everything is new. Amma Unavagam continues — and was revamped for quality early in the term. PDS/NFSA rations, many pensions and earlier education welfare tools also remain part of daily life even when branding shifts. Keep your ration card updated at e-Sevai or the taluk supply office — no wedding-gold or laptop scheme replaces monthly grain security.
Manifesto promises not in this Budget — yet
Several high-visibility TVK campaign items did not appear in the first revised 2026–27 Budget: large monthly cash for women household heads, six free LPG cylinders, and free bus travel for women.
