Districts and cities we cover
Tamil Nadu returns 234 MLAs across 37 districts, and every one of them is on this site. The state has never really voted as a single bloc: the knitwear and engineering towns of the west read differently from the delta, and Chennai reads differently from both. The grouping below is the familiar regional one, and each district links straight to its seat-by-seat breakdown.
The north
Chennai and the districts that have grown into it — the IT corridor running south to Chengalpattu, the factory belt around Sriperumbudur, and the older inland towns of Vellore, Kancheepuram and Tiruvannamalai.

The number in brackets is how many Assembly seats that district sends. The spread is deliberately lopsided: Chennai alone returns 16 MLAs, and the six largest — Chennai, Salem, Coimbatore, Madurai, Thiruvallur, Cuddalore — account for 66 of 234 seats between them. - Criminal-case counts are declared at filing; declaration is not a finding of guilt.
- A small number of affidavit fields on the source aggregator are rendered as images. We OCR-recovered them; tiny per-row inaccuracies are possible. The ECI website is authoritative.
- Live re-counts or court-ordered revisions after the snapshot are not reflected.
- The regional groupings above are editorial and geographic shorthand. They carry no official status and do not affect any figure on this site.
Theme & bias
The default theme is neutral grey. Party colours are an opt-in toggle (in the header). No party gets hero treatment. Won/lost badges use colour-blind-safe teal/slate, not red/green.
