621 booths analysed →IUML contested 2 of 234 seats in TN 2026 inside the SPA alliance — the state-level reflection of the INC-led UPA / INDIA bloc. Across 621 polling stations with 200+ valid votes, four numbers stand out.
634 of 681 voters chose IUML at Booth 117 in Vaniyambadi Town — the party’s tightest lock-in anywhere. Vaniyambadi is a minority Muslim-majority constituency, and the booth-scale dominance reflects the IUML floor running at near-total depth inside its core base.
IUML held this booth by a single vote with 33.0% share. Inside Vaniyambadi the win profile is bimodal — a wide spine of fortress-grade Muslim-area booths plus a thin edge of knife-edge wins in mixed-locality booths inside the same constituency.
IUML averages 34.5% across Vaniyambadi as a whole, but at Booth 117 (Vaniyambadi Town) it took 93.1% — a 59-point local jump. The Vaniyambadi-town locality cluster contains most of IUML’s 66 hot pockets, all anchored in the minority Muslim-area pattern.
IUML produced 34 booths above 80% share inside only 2 contested seats — the highest fortress-density per contested AC of any party. Vaniyambadi (Tirupathur) and Papanasam (Thanjavur) both deliver concentrated minority-Muslim-area depth where the SPA transfer aligned with IUML’s own base.
