Head-to-head
who they fought across the stateBooth-level extremes
1,363 booths analysed →CPI contested 5 of 234 seats in TN 2026 inside the SPA alliance — the state-level reflection of the INC-led UPA / INDIA bloc. Across 1,363 polling stations with 200+ valid votes, four numbers stand out.
652 of 734 voters chose CPI at Booth 16 — the party’s tightest lock-in anywhere. Srivilliputhur is a long-running CPI base; the booth-scale dominance reflects an old left floor still delivering at full depth inside the SPA seat-share.
CPI held this booth by a single vote with 33.7% share. Bhavanisagar produced one knife-edge win and one knife-edge loss for CPI in the same constituency — a defining trait of a small-footprint party where booth-level margins ran almost to zero.
CPI averages 29.6% across Srivilliputhur, but at Booth 16 it took 88.8% — a 59-point local jump. The Srivilliputhur cluster carries the bulk of CPI’s hot-pocket signal, with multiple booths above 70% share marking the seat as a traditional left fortress.
CPI averaged 38.5% vote share across the 1,363 booths it contested inside the SPA. The 10 fortresses (booths above 80% share) for a 5-seat footprint is unusually high — evidence that the SPA transfer consolidated the alliance vote behind CPI in the specific seats it personally contested.
